A multi-institutional collaboration recently published the paper, “Genomewide SNP variation reveals relationships among landraces and modern varieties of rice” in PNAS. The study characterized 160,000 nonredundant SNPs, which were used to evaluate the genotypic and evolutionary relationships among 20 varieties and landraces of rice.
