What’s coming in Gramene build 65?

Gramene is due to be released in March/April 2022.

New Genomes (Assemblies and/or Annotation)

  • Lettuce (Lactuca sativa)

  • Hazelnut (Corylus avellana)

  • Fig (Ficus carica)

  • European olive tree (Olea europaea)

  • Yellow sarson (Brassica rapa R-o-18 is replacing cultivar Chiifu-401-42)

Updated Genomes

  • Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) updated to HanXRQr2.0-SUNRISE assembly

  • Barley (Hordeum vulgare) updated to Morex V3 assembly and annotation from e!DAL (IPK and BaRT gene models)

Software (& Infrastructure) Updates

  • Updated homepage layout

Other Updates and Highlights

  • Masking of repeated sequences in many plant genomes using Red

  • Gene name synonyms from phytozome added for Chlamydomonas reinhardtii 

  • Plant reactome cross-references have been added for Zea mays

  • Centromere data added to Triticum aestivum 

  • SIFT predictions added to VEP output data for several plant species with variation data
