Title: Breeding Bioinformatician/Programmer
Description: Major responsibilities include code and database development for the Cassavabase website (http://.cassavabase.org), a database accessed by breeders in breeding centers mainly located in Africa. Knowledge of Javascript, jQuery, SQL (postgres), and PERL (in particular, DBIx::Class and the Catalyst web framework), knowledge of REST-based web services, and a good working knowledge of Linux (Debian), git, and web servers (apache, Nginx) are desired. The position requires regular travel to breeding centers in Africa to train breeders in the use of the website.
Position Requirements : A PhD in Plant Breeding, Computational Biology or a related field with a strong interest in the complementary fields is required.
