CANVAS 2026: Advancing Agricultural Science Through Research, Innovation, and Collaboration

The CANVAS 2026 Conference, formerly known as the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA International Annual Meeting, will take place November 1–4, 2026, in Portland, Oregon. Organized by the American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA), this four-day scientific meeting will bring together more than 4,000 researchers, educators, students, and industry professionals from around the world. Under the theme “Forging New Frontiers,” the conference will highlight advances in agricultural and environmental research, emphasizing the integration of scientific discovery, emerging technologies, and practical applications to strengthen global agricultural resilience. With more than 3,000 abstracts anticipated, CANVAS 2026 will provide a forum for sharing research findings, exploring innovative approaches to crop production and soil management, and addressing challenges related to climate change, natural resource conservation, and sustainable agriculture.

The conference will open with a keynote presentation by Katharine Hayhoe, Chief Scientist for The Nature Conservancy and a Horn Distinguished Professor and Endowed Professor of Public Policy and Public Law at Texas Tech University. Her presentation, “Science in a Fact Free World,” will address the challenges of communicating scientific evidence and its relevance to public understanding and decision-making. Additional keynote speakers and invited presenters will contribute perspectives from across the agricultural and environmental sciences. For more information about the featured speakers, visit the CANVAS 2026 Speakers page.

The conference program will feature keynote presentations, technical sessions, interactive workshops, field tours, and scientific discussions spanning agronomy, crop science, soil science, and environmental research. An extensive exposition will showcase emerging technologies, research tools, and industry innovations supporting advances in agricultural science.
