The National Association of Plant Breeders (NAPB) will host its 2026 Annual Meeting on June 15–18, 2026, at the Texas A&M Hotel and Conference Center in College Station, Texas. This annual gathering provides a unique forum for public- and private-sector plant breeders working across more than 40 crop species. Attendees will share innovative breeding strategies, explore emerging technologies, and engage in open discussions on plant breeding policy and societal challenges. The 2026 meeting theme, “AI-Driven Innovation: Transforming Genomes and Phenomes for the Future of Plant Breeding,” highlights the growing role of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data-driven approaches in accelerating genetic gain and improving complex traits.
Students and early-career scientists will have opportunities to present research, connect with potential employers, and engage with faculty and industry mentors. Professional development and informational sessions support participants at all career stages, offering insights into evolving tools, career pathways, and best practices in modern plant breeding.
Keynote speakers will include:
Dr. Jeffrey Savell & Dr. Cliff Lamb, Texas A&M University
Dr. William Rooney, Texas A&M University, recipient of the 2023 Public Sector Impact Award
Dr. Istvan Rajvan, University of Guelph, recipient of the Public Sector Impact Award
Dr. Mark Sorrells, Cornell University, recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award
