A group of around 1800 people attended the 2022 ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Annual Meeting from November 6th to 9th in Baltimore, Maryland. This annual meeting, organized by three societies: Society of Agronomy, Crop Society and Soil Science Society, was titled “Communication and Public Engagement for Healthy People and a Healthy Planet” and was primarily focused on core agriculture research and its impact on sustainable agriculture and food production. This conference provided an opportunity for researchers working in agronomic, crop, soil, and related sciences to get updates on the latest research, meet and learn from their peers, expand their knowledge base and take advantage of networking opportunities. Dr. Sunita Kumari, from the Ware Lab at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, presented SorghumBase (https://www.sorghumbase.org/) and had discussions with plant researchers from agricultural universities and research organizations on improving access to comparative functional genomics data and genetic variation data for sorghum and other crops using SorghumBase and Gramene.
