Over 3,000 genetic scientists and researchers in plant and animal research will gather from January 13-18 in San Diego, California for The Plant & Animal Genome Conference (PAG30).

The Maize Genetics Cooperation is hosting its 65th annual meeting from March 16th to the 19th of 2023 in St. Louis, Missouri. The meeting will include plenary talks, oral presentations, poster sessions, and opportunities for networking.

Applications for travel awards for the 65th Annual Maize Genetics Meeting (MGM) are due December 15th. The conference is being held from March 16-19 in St. Louis, Missouri. 

The three different grant opportunities for a travel award  are:

A Gordon Research Conference on Single-Cell Approaches in Plant Biology entitled “Understanding Functions and Behaviors of Individual Plant Cells in Space and Time” will take place from July 30th to August 4th in Ventura, California. The conference aims to bring together researchers from diverse areas to present new, unpublished research, and includes talks, posters and networking opportunities.

A group of around 1800 people attended the 2022 ASA-CSSA-SSSA International Annual Meeting from November 6th to 9th in Baltimore, Maryland.

The Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI), funded by USDA NIFA, is accepting proposals for their larger $250K, “coconut” grants. Any proposal on a topic relevant to the agricultural G2P community is welcome, though this grant is focused on supporting research projects that have applications to both crops and livestock. Proposals in the following areas, identified by the USDA as of special interest, are encouraged:

GRAPEDIA, the Grapevine Genomics Encyclopedia, was officially launched on the 1st of November, 2022.

The Agricultural Genome to Phenome Initiative (AG2PI) is hosting a virtual workshop entitled “Sharing UAS based high throughput plant phenotyping data via public clouds'' on November 18th from 1:00 - 3:00 EST.

The 19th International Symposium on Rice Functional Genomics (ISRFG 2022) was held in Phuket, THAILAND on 4-7 NOVEMBER 2022. The ISRFG 2022 covered the most recent developments in rice functional genomics research. This conference brought together over 70 leading rice scientists and researchers, 9 workshops, 85 posters and over 140 abstracts.
