ISRFG 2026: Rice Functional Genomics at the Royal Society, London

The 23rd International Symposium on Rice Functional Genomics (ISRFG 2026) will be held 08–11 September 2026 at the historic Royal Society in central London. Organized by the UKRI-funded OryzaNet network in collaboration with the Association of Applied Biologists, the meeting will bring together global leaders in rice biology, genomics, and crop improvement.

Rice feeds half of the world’s population, and as we move toward 10 billion people by 2050, advancing climate-resilient, nutritious, and sustainable rice varieties is critical. Building on more than two decades of discovery following the landmark International Rice Genome Sequencing Project — the first reference genome of any crop plant — ISRFG26 will highlight cutting-edge research driving the next generation of innovation.

The program will feature keynote and plenary lectures, concurrent sessions, workshops, and a poster session, followed by a final-day scientific visit in London (TBC).

ISRFG26 offers a unique opportunity to connect established and emerging rice research communities in one of the world’s most historic scientific venues.
