Questions about simple sequence repeats (SSRs) make up a significant portion of the questions we get. A user just yesterday asked about finding the markers matching a particular repeat motif. While Gramene doesn't have a specific tool for finding this, it's possible to figure it out a number of ways:
- Visit the SSR Markers Resource page to find tab-delimited and HTML formatted versions of our SSRs that you can peruse.
- Use the markers search for SSRs and choose the "Download Data" option.
- Download all the SSRs through BioMart. Simply choose "Gramene Markers" for the database, then "SSR Markers" for the data set, then hit the "Results" button to download. You can choose to add a "Filter" to limit, for instance, by species.
The last two can, of course, be used to download markers and sequences of any type.
