Gramene database interim build 36b released

The Gramene Team is pleased to announce interim release 36b. In collaboration with the Oryza Genome Evolution (OGE) project, the Human Reactome Project, and Ensembl Plants, we are providing in this release:

* A new platform for comparative analysis of plant metabolic, regulatory and signaling networks known as the Plant Reactome (beta version) and currently prototyped with rice pathways.

* New whole-genome, EST alignments, and gene trees for Oryza barthii (WGS), O. granulata (chr3s), O. longistaminata (chr3s), and Leersia perrieri (chr3s).

* New variation data for Brachypodium sylvaticum from three populations from Corvallis (Oregon, USA), Spain and Greece, mapped to B. distachyon genome (Source: Jaiswal Lab.)

* Entry portal for PICARA, a new diversity tool to support data integration for GWA studies.

Other developments also featured in this build have been previously released as part of Ensembl Genomes 17 and include:

* Ensembl search functionality for Triticum aestivum (bread wheat) genome sequence data.

* Variation data for Hordeum vulgare (barley) from four cultivars, Barke, Bowman, Igri, Haruna Nijo and a wild barley (H. spontaneum).

* DNA-derived synteny data between Solanum tuberosum (potato) and S. lycopersicum (tomato).

* Gene descriptions for Musa acuminata (banana) and stable identifiers updated for Vitis vinifera (grape).

A complete description of the contents of this new release is available in our release notes.
