Gramene database build 38 released

The Gramene Team is pleased to announce its release #38.  In collaboration with Ensembl Plants we are providing in this release:

  1. Two new bread wheat progenitor genomes: i) the A-genome progenitor Triticum urartu (einkorn wheat) and ii) the D-genome progenitor Aegilops tauschii (goatgrass)
  2. Updated split gene model predictions for 23 reference genomes based on the latest Compara data
  3. New bread wheat genome alignments added to barley
  4. Updated barley variation data
  5. Gramene genome browser, database schema and API updated to Ensembl version 72
  6. BioMart includes new data for the wheat progenitors and updated variants for barley
  7. Revised vitamin B pathways in MaizeCyc version 2.1, according to the review by Gerdes et al. 2012 (J Exp Bot.63:5379-95)
  8. Added 12 new rice pathways to the Plant Reactome
