Important rice SNP diversity study published

Submitted by admin on Thu, 07/30/2009 - 12:53

A multi-institutional collaboration recently published the paper, "Genomewide SNP variation reveals relationships among landraces and modern varieties of rice" in PNAS. The study characterized 160,000 nonredundant SNPs, which were used to evaluate the genotypic and evolutionary relationships among 20 varieties and landraces of rice. SNP markers and allele calls produced by this work will be included in the next Gramene database release (September 2009) in the Genetic Diversity module.
