The COST Action CA17111 INTEGRAPE Annot’Training School, a hybrid training school on Gene Annotation & Manual Curation of the Vitis vinifera clone PN40024 Grape Reference Genome, was held from June 28th to July 1st in Zaragoza, Spain. Dr. Marcela Karey Tello-Ruiz, a member of Doreen Ware’s Lab at CSHL, presented the Gene Tree App from the Gramene Database as a tool to assist in manual curation of gene models for grapevine in her talk on flagging suspicious Vitis gene models. Since the training took place, a total of 203 gene models have been flagged for potential annotation issues by at least two curators. The tool is available for grape researchers through contacting the Ware Lab at CSHL through the Vitis feedback form.
