The 39th annual Biology of Genomes meeting will take place at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory May 5-9, 2026. The conference will explore how DNA sequence variation shapes molecular evolution, population genetics, complex disease biology, and comparative genomics, as well as findings from large-scale gene and protein expression studies and genomic analyses of ecological systems. The program will highlight both technological advances and their applications, and will also feature a dedicated session on the ethical, legal, and social issues surrounding genome research. The keynote speaker is Jonathan Pritchard, from Stanford University.
Topics will include:
Population Genomics
Evolutionary & Non-human Genomics
Cancer Genomics
Computational & Statistical Genomics
Complex Traits & Genomic Medicine
Functional Genomics
Emerging Methods & Technologies
Abstracts are due February 13 and regular registration ends 5:00 pm EST April 30.
Six graduate students will be awarded scholarships for the full conference registration, courtesy of the James P. Taylor Foundation for Open Science. For more information on applications, as well as additional meeting information, visit the meeting website.
