The Plant Biology graduate program of the Penn State Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences is hosting the 23rd Penn State Plant Biology Symposium, focusing on RNA biology, from May 17th to May 20th on the Penn State campus. The conference will include plenary lectures as well as short talks chosen from submitted abstracts and poster sessions.

The Research Data Alliance (RDA) is hosting their second annual Improving Global Agricultural Data (IGAD) Conference virtually from March 22 to April 8. IGAD is a group which focuses on all topics related to global agriculture data. Panel sessions, group discussions, and presentations will provide an opportunity for deepening collaborations and facilitate sharing knowledge and developing innovations. There are individual registration links for each virtual session. Interested participants are encouraged to register for multiple days based on interests and needs.

The Crops Conference is being held June 13-16 at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. The conference is focused on the application of genomic technology to crop improvement. Conference topics include sustainable crop development, adapting to climate change, and plant engineering solutions for crop resiliency.

Gramene's Oryza Pan-Genome (https://oryza.gramene.org) is a web portal for comparative plant genomics focused on rice varieties. In its release 3.1, the gene family trees were rebuilt using the same species included in release 3.0 with superior quality.
A total of 37,423 GeneTree families were constructed comprising 1,134,514 individual genes (1,187,461 input proteins). See updated stats here.
