Fruit Crops Resilience to Climate Change in the Mediterranean Basin-FREECLIMB has organized a webinar titled “Genome-based characterization
of Mediterranean fruit crop genetic resources for better resilience to climate extremes”, open to all, on April 27 and 28 from 7:00 to 10:00 AM EST. This two-webinar is aimed at researchers, scientists, policy makers, technicians and farmers looking to share project results and insights into recent innovations.

The Crops Conference is being held June 13-16 at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology in Huntsville, Alabama. The conference is focused on the application of genomic technology to crop improvement. Conference topics include sustainable crop development, adapting to climate change, and plant engineering solutions for crop resiliency.

Abstracts for oral presentations and E-Posters for the American Society for Horticultural Science (ASHS) Conference are due March 15. All oral and poster presentations must be made in person. Gramene's Oryza Pan-Genome (https://oryza.gramene.org) is a web portal for comparative plant genomics focused on rice varieties. In its release 3.1, the gene family trees were rebuilt using the same species included in release 3.0 with superior quality.
A total of 37,423 GeneTree families were constructed comprising 1,134,514 individual genes (1,187,461 input proteins). See updated stats here.

The International Society for Biocuration (ISB) is holding the first UK local Biocuration Conference is taking place from May 5th to 6th 2022 at EMBL's European Bioinformatics Institute in Hinxton, Cambridge, UK. The two day event will include keynote presentations on data harmonisation and application of bioinformatic resources, as well as presentations on data curation, biocuration systems, ontologies and community curation. The keynote speakers are Kenneth Baillie (Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh) and Dr Melanie Courtot (EMBL-EBI).

AG2PI, funded by the USDA, is offering grant opportunities for the agricultural G2P community. The third round of funding will prioritize cross community groups, such as animals and plants or academics, government, and/or private industry. Budgets range from $50,000 - $100,000 depending on whether the project is emerging (new), enabling (a project that has initial studies but needs support to continue and expand), or establishing (sustaining well established projects). All proposals are due by March 8th, with an anticipated start date of June 1st and a duration of 6 months to a year.

Call for Workshop Proposals for PAG Asia 2022
In response to the expanding global population, worldwide climate changes, and dramatic plant and animal genome research occurring in Asia Pacific, the organizers of the Plant and Animal Genome Conference are planning a short version of PAG.
Due to the current circumstances and COVID-19 concerns, the 2022 conference will be entirely virtual, and held online during business hours (Bejing time zone) June 22-24, 2022.
