The NSF-funded Gramene and MaizeCODE projects invite graduate students and faculty interested in course development to participate in the maize annotation jamboree from march 10-12, 2020 prior to the Maize Genetics Meeting in Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi, USA.

Every spring, SUNY Old Westbury hosts an annual Student Research Day. Students showcase the results of their research and creativity through oral, poster, media and art presentations or exhibits. These academic and artistic achievements represent the effort of in-class assignments and out-of-class experiences conducted with faculty, with more than 100 students participating each year.
The 2019 Student Research Day was held on Tuesday, April 16th under the theme: RESEARCH FOR CHANGE.

To celebrate Fascination of Plants Day (FoPD) 2019, on May 22nd, Gramene's project manager and outreach, education and training coordinator, Dr. Marcela Karey Tello-Ruiz of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, visited fourth graders at Bayville's Intermediate (BI) School in New York to talk about plants and the secrets in their genomes! In addition to a dynamic slideshow, students created colorful seed necklaces.
